As you might have seen in previous blogs, groups are a great feature of Twine that allow teachers, students, parents, and staff to work together, plan, and discuss based on any group or organization you can think up. This fall, we’ve introduced three new types of groups to help schools and families get even more from Twine.

  1. Professional Development Groups — PD Groups provide a modern way to create and deliver self-paced training for a wide range of staff training activities including teacher professional development, staff compliance training, training in support of new technology deployments and more. These groups include:
    • Content building features just like within a course
    • Content import from various sources
    • Ability to add badges and certifications to denote training/task completion
  2. Learning Object Repository Groups – Sometimes teachers and staff need a place to collect, discuss, categorize and curate content and LOR groups are the best place to do that. Teachers can post notes or contribute Learning Objects. When a Learning Object is contributed, anyone who enters the group has access to it.
  3. Study groups – Twine now includes a new group type for study groups. If your school offers multiple sections of a course or if you are part of a larger chain of schools, these groups can be created for each unique course offered, allowing collaboration across sections of a class or with your sister school in the next city over. Students and teachers are automatically enrolled in these groups, once created, based on course enrollment. Students across your school or group of schools will be able to ask questions, learn from other students, and be guided by educators who are facilitating the group.

At Twine, we are excited about helping schools, passionate about transforming learning and focused on improving student achievement. We are proud to provide technology solutions that help schools achieve their goals. Want to know more about groups and how they can help your school? Please contact us.
